Lately there has been reports of a guy stalking around the apartment complex in the night following and chasing women around. Now he hasn't caught anyone yet (to my knowledge) but if it's my wife he'd better "stand the Frag by". My wife carries a very poor tactical folder that I'm not sure she could open fast enough (she insists she can) which is so big she rarely carries it at all. I gave her m neck knife yesterday upon learning of the psycho but she really needs something more substantial. I don't care if it is fixed or folder just as long as it is something she would carry ALL the time. No serrations and no tantos (she can't stand them). Anyway your help is appreciated.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

I gave my wife a spydie cricket. It just ended up in the bottom of her purse, and I doubt she could get through all the garbage to retrieve it in a time of need, she just doesn't have an interest. She did the same thing with the pepper spray I gave her and it ended up back in the house, lost in a drawer somewhere.I would suggest you get something not to large or obtrusive and think of a carry position or system that you think she will use and the knife won't end up buried in a cluttered handbag.Plus most women don't like ugly,so try to stay away from black plastic handles and go with something more visually appealing.Later,Ralph

My wife carries a knife on her keychain so it can easily be held in her hand at the ready while walking to and from the car in parking lots. She also has one of those LOUD whistles on her keychain that would probably scare off anyone or at least get some attention if she needed help. If its down in the purse, she won't have time to get it out. Which knife is a personal preference choice that should be made mainly by her with some guidance from someone more knowledgable like you. YMMV.

Well, depending on what you want to spend, Jerry Hossom makes some nice fighting knives. Using some fancy materials for the handle and bolsters would give it more of a 'dressy' appearance. He does have a waiting list, but he might have something around which wasn't made custom, so it can't hurt to check ( http://www.hossom.com/ ). I currently carry a Benchmade 140HS. If you want to avoid the plain black, I'm sure you could get custom slabs for it, since they are bolted (not epoxied) on.

Jerry Hossom actually doesn't have a waiting list. He started the rumor to make Tom Mayo jealous.

That's remarkable. You ought to join the State Department, Walt. I think you actually managed to get Tom and me on the same side of an issue. YOU!!!

Well, speaking of Jerry Hossom and his mighty fine knives...click here for a pic of the Hossom Millennium Necklace knife he made for my wifey-poo:

Note the very classy looking faux pearl. She loves this knife so much that she let me get her pregnant!

Now if I could only post a pic of the sweet sheath that Matt Draper made for it!

So I edited this post four times. See what happens when you try to post an image while you're slightly drunk?

DAMN! You got me, Tom. It has been so LONG since I sent you the Mad Dog Mako and the billet of Talonite (r), I had forgotten all about it. What were you going to do with it anyway?

Have fun in paradise, Walt
