Well, looking for a something that I can keep in my daily carry messenger styler computer bag (Timbuk3) that will hold/organize a few items.

For examaples od what I want to keep handy:
- a few pens (I prefer G2's and carry a spare and an extra color)
- a highlighter and or Sharpie
- a few business cards and a couple of critical credit cards
- a 6" metal ruler
- a small spiral note pad

I would prefer it to be a black nylon/full zip... not looking for a "Franklin" type planner, but something compact and well made. Didn't see Maxpedition having anything on their site, but a like company/quality lwould fit the bill.

Or is there any military surpluss items that may work as well.

Looking again at their Maxpedition site and the Rat Wallet is close to what I am looking for, but just a bit larger would fit the bill.

Whoa, pretty much does nail it. What is really scary is that the pic shows it with G-2's being carried.

Thanks for the great suggestion.

Here's what I keep in mine:

ebd2dc6e.jpg

Left Side

Sharpie green marker
Bic green pen
Parker FP
Parker Jotter
Sharpie black marker
...behind the pens are:
ID's, cards holder
Misc. notes

Right Side
Bandage scissors
Oxygen tank key

I keep stuff like loose change in the mesh pocket on the front side of the pack. This thing comes quite handy: in my place of work I don't have the option to wear 'normal' pants and stuff tends to get lost/ stolen when it is never organized.

If intellectual property and quallity construction are a concern, find out which came out first and who makes the cheap copy. Then spend your money wisely.

because of the bright yellow interior, and other reasons after that. 1SKS sells this item, so you get to help support the Forums as well.

The County Comm is not up to Spec Ops quality -- I have both, and frankly, don't even want to use the CC version. They even put the zipper on backwards: it opens from the bottom to the top. Also, the right side is sewn down the middle, which interferes with putting a spiral notepad there -- one of my reasons for carrying it in the first place.

Went to Brigade Quartermaster and compared the Mini Organizer and the "Pack Rat" model. I like he Pack Rat a ton... but the Mini fit the bill some much better. Wanted a black one, they only had OD, but the color is growning on me.

A well made product and it is nice to see manufactured in Texas.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Get the Organizer from 1SKS, they usually have black.

I also have the Pack Rat, I keep the Organizer in it for a quick access to must-have items.

I have had the same experience. Spec-Ops is innovative and has really nice gear.

Wow, that is a dangerous site... I could easily rack up a "divorce qualifying" credit card bill with no trouble.
