Looking for a titanium watch...

I am in the process of looking for a new watch. I've had my G-Shock for a while now, and now I want something a little better dressed. I started looking at a Skagen, I like how light and thin they are, but don't really know how well Skagens hold up to water/abuse, and I like to have numbers instead of lines on the hours. I'd really like a chronograph with a date as well. I've been looking at the St. Moritz Titan II, but it's a bit on the pricey side. Is there a better watch out there for under $200, or should I go with the Titan II?

Criteria:
Brand with good Reputation
Titanium body and band
Chronograph
Date
Luminescent hands
Sturdy design/waterproof (100m)
Easy to read
Under $200

You might look at Invicta or Breitling. Pricey is a relative term, but I believe a watch is one of the things you should spend a little on. Omega makes some cheaper models that are nice.

Ya no earthly way you'll get a Breitling for $200. But a previous poster was thinking well, because Breitling has a couple nice models in titanium that look great. Unfortunately one is $2k and the other is more.

You're right, I meant Bulova, but the post made me start looking for another watch...an obsession that rivals my knife addiction. The Bulova Marine Star is a pretty decent knife in the price range. I know it's not titanium, but that brings up the question of why does it have to be titanium? Just wondering.

It does have some benefits:
They are lightweight
They are stronger than steel
They are very corrosion resistant
They contain no nickel (hypoallergenic)

Negatives:
Way more expensive than steel
Can scratch and stain without a coating
To get a titanium watch, you could sacrifice the better internals to stay within your price point.

I personally like a watch that has some weight to it. You get used to it very quickly.

My eyes nearly liberated themselves from their sockets with the $200 Breitling suggestion. Shoot, I'm not sure you'd be able to get a blackmarket Breitling, with dried blood on it for $200...

Okay, throw me some good SS suggestions. I was looking at this Seiko one as well.
What are some of the best $150 SS Chronos out there?

I would go with the Skagen, they hold up good with water, and are very thin. The problem with mine was the girlfried was hassling me about wearing it in the water, so i was standing on the ski platform of the boat and i decided to talk it off to make her happy and as i was taking it off it slipped out of my hand and fell 94 feet to the bottom of the lake, where it still lays.

I have a St. Moritz Atlas Ti that I really like, so I'm going to suggest them as far as brand. Personally, I like the looks of this SS more. I do have a Seiko Kinetic that has been a great watch too, so if you like Seiko, I think you could do a lot worse.

The St. Moritz Cyclone is SS and is around $200; might be less if you do some shopping around. The best price I found was a place called CrazyScuba.com

I have a skagen that I wear everyday and I love it. its so light and thin you can easily forget you are wearing it.

I've got a Seiko a lot like the second one you posted, mine has a more subdued grey brushed finish, slighlty different buttons and claims 200M water resistance. I think I've had it 4 or 5 years, has some character marks, but is still going strong.

Hello Sir.

This is my first interaction in this forum looks like a great and educated bunch of Guys and Gals.

I had a suggestion on a Ti watch. I bought a Hamilton a few years ago and it is light perfect time keeping never any problems. It is like a feild watch or maybe a navigation style H774150 is the model # swiss made W/R 200m sapphire crystal front ans back. A great watch for not as much as to be expected. I hope this helps if you can't find pics just shoot me a pm and I will send you some pics.

Have a Merry Christmas.
