Looking for a tomahawk belt carrier

I know that there are purpose built options available for those that wish to carry an axe or tomahawk on their belts. But they tend to cost a fair bit, and not being certain if I want to carry on a regular basis, I'm looking for less expensive options. One idea that came to me is the belt holder ring sold for people who carry D-cell Maglite flashlights. Technically speaking they're similar to some of the old axe carriers I've seen on medieval recreation sights that consisted of just a leather strap and metal ring. But I have no way of knowing if they're big enough for the handle to fit all the way down in one.

Does anyone have one of these Maglite loops and a Cold Steel tomahawk to verify if the idea is valid?

I have an old D Mag Lite holder from when we used lights that large.....if you are asking if the hawk handle diameter will fit, the answer is yes. Will it balance? That's another question. The handle weight needs to be greater than the head or it [the hawk head] will rotate down and fall out of the ring.
