I am looking for a tough sharp forged hawk that will be used, I have my knife maker, but now I would like to find a tomahawk. I have bought several in the past and there ok, I got a nice custom hand forged one and it got dropped and dinged up the edge pretty good, so it is more of a wall hanger. I like the traditional style, I know RJM are cool and all but I like style as well as substance. I would like to get some input. Thanks in advance, Stay safe. BtC

Look on ebay for butchesforge. Butch makes some nice hawks from ballpein hammers. He has 2 for sale on their right now.

I bought more than 10 Butchesforge hawks. 4 left himself remaining resold. Look at it they are good hawks. I cut the 3-inch nail (3 pieces as a test) - blade remains as new.

I have looked at his hawks as you recommended, I am trying to contact him now to see if he takes commissions. I am in central NC so it would be nice to link up with him. Thanks for the info. BtC

Thanks, do you have any contact information. I googled him and got no web site. His stuff looks really nice.

I also recommend H&B Forge. I have a large French poll hawk and a medium camp poll hawk and the fit and finish is great. Good customer service too. Shoot me a PM if you would like to see them. I'm in central NC as well.

Also checkout James Helm. He is on this forum and is a great guy along with making some incredible Hawks.

Best of luck on your search
