Just recently i started to look into different knives. Almost every blade that i own is either combat/utility or literally made just for the purpose of combat. I saw a Buck 110 and decided i wanted to expand my collection and look at a broader range of knives! :)

the look of the Buck 110 my friend showed me was just great! I want a folder with that kind of look to it. So of course, i am considering purchasing one. What other folders would you recommend that are somewhat similar? I haven't spent much time in the traditional area of bladeforums but i am always wanting to learn. Any info or recommendations of traditional knives would be just fantastic! :)

blade length 3-4 inches

Are you looking for a large lockback? Any lockback? I would recommend the GEC 72 or Missouri Trader 42, both lockbacks, or the Queen Mountain Man. Best kickbacks I've seen for traditionals. I am waiting for Gec to make a traditional 23 trapper with a regular lockback but the 23 bullnose lockbacks are out there.. I am waiting for a Ben Hogan lockback from a member here, pattern 65.

72 is the shortest at 3 inches, Ben hogan and 23 the longest, MM not far behind, and the 42 MT a bit longer than the 72. I carry a 73 everyday. Single blade, slipjoint version of 72, it is fine for my needs. I switch to a fixed blade if I need more (my one hand opener doesn't see much use).

This. Missouri Trader by GEC. Not the boat anchor that the Buck is, pocketable, sharp, useable and much more unique. And like all GEC's, really well made.

The Buck 110 is iconic. It was a game changer when it came out in 1964. If you want "premium" steel, the Buck custom shop can outfit you with one in S30V.

All the other knives that are being recommended are great knives. But, IMO every knife knut should have a Buck 110.

I've carried one of these for over 37 years - the first 35, exclusively. Fits comfortably in my watchpocket (3 3/4" closed). Extremely sturdy construction. Liners and bolsters are a single piece of stainless steel. A larger pivot pin than most knives of this size. The USA made Schrades can still be found, if you look for them. I recently found this one, lightly used, for $23 . Highly recommended.
