I bought an old SAK a while ago and now I'm looking for its name. It's basically a Ranger, but with a fish scale added. On the back there's only a cork screw, awl and a flat head screw driver. I've read that there were several Ranger models made over the years, but haven't found this one yet. Anyone knows this model?

Depending on just how old it is that could well be the Champion of it's day. The 'Champion' name kept getting used for the SAK that had all the features available at the time. Over the years is simply got bigger and bigger.

ADD. More and more sure of this. If the SAK was made before 1973 then what you are describing would indeed have been called the Champion. What shape is the small blade, does it have metal tipped tweezers and is the shield nickel silver (warmer colour then the modern one)?

Thanks guys. Looks like it's an old Champion then. I already knew the Ranger model changed over the years, that's why my first thought was that it's an old Ranger model. I didn't know that about the Champion.

Edit: it's too dark now. Will post some pictures of it later.
