I am looking for a blade the same as the last Rambo movie. No show pieces, or display items but a functioning blade that can be used in the outdoors. I've searched the 'net and saw some models but don't know what is functional. Any have any suggestions of places that may sell one?

thanks in advance for any info.

Gil Hibben custom made all the previous Rambo knives I believe. And, United Cutlery made the cheaper knockoff of the first 3. I don't know if the last Rambo knife was the same, but it looks like the guy that posted here first found a damn close one. Looks cool. Cold Steel has alot of decent priced, cool looking machetes.

The Hibben is 1060 at least, the other one says "high carbon" which is likely garbage.
The other one looks better, but the Hibben should perform well as a machete.

I have a Mk4 and it's damn near useless. It's half an inch thick, the '1060 high carbon' steel is too hard to sharpen with aluminum oxide sandpaper or any of my stones, and the edge comes convexed at about a 120 degree angle. For a bludgeoning tool, sure. And it's not a bad design... but extremely poor execution on Hibben/United Cutlery's part.

Go to the makers section & give Mark Wohlwend a holler ;) He made a few a while back & they look Awsome ! Mark makes some awsome knives
