Looking for advice on a knife

I am currently looking to purchase a good fixed blade with certain specifications and I would like advice.
I would a fixed blade 6-8" with a drop point, trailing point, clip point any if the typical styles. Plain edge good quality tool steel and a handle made of one of the modern materials ( micarta , g10 etc) same for the sheath.
Price range is up to 400 any suggestions for a good blade

A few of our BladeForums posting bladesmiths that I would recommend (from first-hand experience) are "Nathan the Machinist" Carothers, "samuraistuart" Davenport, and "Big Chris" Berry. They all make a terrific blade well within your price range.

I just saw this one on the Exchange; it's a little larger, but it's a terrific opportunity.
