Looking for an alox Classic without SD file tip

Dad lost his Vic Classic and I'd like to get him an alox one without the screwdriver tip. He prefers the nail cleaner tip. I'm having a hard time finding that. If someone could PM me a link I'd really appreciate it. Again, no screwdriver tip. And check-pattern alox, not smooth stainless or sterling, etc. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Mark! I didn't have any luck finding what you're looking for either. You may have already thought of this, but it looks like it wouldn't take much work to file down the SD tip into a pointed nail cleaner. Not sure if the blade thickness is different between the two styles though. (Take a peek at your Rambler and imagine filing the SD tip into a pointed nail cleaner).

Hi Mark,
I have the same concern. I do not like the SD tip, and prefer the standard "old style" Classic.
I will let you know if I find one here in Italy though (as i'm not interested in alox ;))

Thanks, guys. As I'm getting this one as a gift, I'm not really looking for something that needs to be modded. I'll either get him the elusive alox non-SD Classic, or just go ahead and get him a regular cellidor Classic with the nail cleaner tip.

I know you said no smooth stainless, but if you can't find a alox, have you thought about the Guilloché?

It's stainless but not smooth, it would make a nicer gift than a standard version.

That's PERFECT, Stich2442! Would be just the ticket!  Now, to find one ...

Pete: I saw the message on my phone, but now I don't see it. Can you please re-send to mnessmith AT gmail DOTT com ?

Sent it along via email, it should also be on your profile page, let me know if you got it or not.

If you don't find one Mark let me know as I have one I could help you with. Its not alox though.

It's quite easy to turn a screwdriver into a nail tool. All you need is a belt grinder with a contact wheel and a Sichtschleifscheibe (slot wheel grinder). You can do it with stone slips or diamond files, but it takes forever.
