Wrong forum bro. There is a tactical sub0forum for this kinda question.

Are you looking for 2 knives for $90. If you plan on trusting your life to a knife, you might want to reconsider and only get one. Save up a bit more, and get a Spyderco Military or Paramilitary 2. Those knives are more purpose built for your SD. The resiliance, pm and millie would all make great EDC knives.

Please reconsider using a knife as a SD tool. Yes, it is better than nothing, but nobody wins in a knife fight.

I personally don't think that knives should be used for defense. Can you carry a gun insteaD?

I've carried the Resilience a bit for edc and it is manageable, but on the upper end of manageable and sometimes a bit too much knife for small tasks. It also looks huge to non-knife people. You might consider a Manix2 or a Manix2 XL to bring the size down just a bit and get a higher build quality at the same time.

Good suggestion on the Manix 2. I will probably order one of those this year.

Would the OP consider something like a Kershaw Blur for EDC and a fixed blade from Condor as a SD blade?

Get a good Kershaw or a Manix 2 like mentioned before.
However, and this may sound weird to a guy... carry pepper spray or something like that.
They also sell stun guns for this purpose.
Pepper Spray or a Stun gun would be just as effective and safer for you to use in all honesty.

You might want to try the prac-tac subforum, but I'd go with the Manix 2 XL which can be had for around $90 on a very popular online super store.

The Yojimbo 2 is a knife designed for self defense. The wharncliffe style blade helps with a lot of utilitarian tasks in my experience. Can be had for around a few more dollars from your budget.

And the knife itself

First, in your price range I'd recommend you look for one knife rather than splitting your budget between two. If $90 is your upper limit a lot of the recommended knives exceed that number by a bit, but they're all high quality knives well worth the extra $10-$30.

Second, forget about a knife for self defense. Other than as a last-ditch effort to peel an attacker off of you you'll be better served by pepper spray or a gun. Chances are that if you are trying to peel an attacker off of you you aren't going to be able to get to your knife and open it anyway. Situational awareness and your feet are your best defense. If those don't work either a gun or pepper spray can be used from a distance. A knife can obviously only be used at contact range. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a self defense situation where you need a knife you'll have your EDC, it may not be the optimal fighting knife but that's not its primary purpose. Besides, you don't want to be the guy who brought a knife to a gunfight, you also don't want to be the guy who brought a knife to a knife fight.
