Looking for somthing around $200 4oz 4.5" closed length and non serrated

1. ZT 0350 ooohhh nice. i know i will carry for a few weeks then leave at home becuse of the weight, love the blade style.

2. Strider SNG looks freeking nice but way overbudget and like the ZT a little too heavy.

3. Emerson CQC 7 Plain Edge damn near perfect, the wave open feature looks a little silly imo, but i have never used it.

4. Dont like most of the spyderco hole on the blade or kershaw small end of the handle designs.

5. CRKT Hissatsu 2 its a little silly looking with the design on the handle and the shape of the blade.
I like the Manual LAWKS, AUS 8 steel and OutBurst assisted opening.
Not the best but for around $40 it has alot of features. i would not mind using it, carrying it or losing it.

6. CRKT M16 EDC Spear Point Titanium. not shur about the laws in texas yet, but if i cant carry an open assist
i will pick this one instead of the Hissatsu. downside is aus 4 steel and Auto LAWKS instead of the manual LAWKS.

Right now im torn between the emerson and the crkt blades, anyway if you know of any other knives i should look at
let me know.

Emerson cqc7 is great. I have the spear point version with a plain edge, no wave. It has a disk to open the blade with. It does not feel too heavy when you carry it. Great knife!

775 MPR looks awsome, but a little too heavy.

why are the benchmade handles either fat or skinny on the end like kershaws?

i have never owned one and im guessing the fat handles are comfortable, but the style is horrible imo.

i see and hear nothing but good things about them.

Check out the DPX HEST 2.0. Sweet knife and You gotta love the bottle opener!!!

Oh yeah!!! But if you want a folder the HEST is a heavy duty user with added benefit of being a multi-tool. Fit n finish is very high. Almost Chris Reeve quality feel...

Sticking with the other Benchmade recommendations I think you should check out the 710, D2 steel built very well and no funky handle for about $120... Love mine and it pockets very nice

watching some utube videos now i like the recurve of the blade belly but not how the top of the blade is low.
also the whole thing looks very long, mabee thats how it comes off might feel diffrent in the hand.

thanks for the recommendation.

I believe the blade looks low because of the thumb ramp, it's actually in line with the rest of the handle. I might also add that it's a very comfortable handle no sharp edges, the G-10 is rounded all over the knife. Choking up and using the spine with your thumb for push cuts is nice too the thumb ramp doesn't get in the way, but there is no jimping on the spine.
Yes it is a little long as the blade is just under 4 inches, I think it's officially 3.9 I believe with a 4.5 inch handle. Pretty good ratio of blade to handle, it's definitely on the upper end of what I carry for EDC but I really like it. It is built solid and the axis lock on mine is very smooth and deploys and retracts very easily. Not to mention it looks great IMO, pictures and vids don't do justice to its aesthetics....

I think jdavis882 has a good video review of the blade, if it's still up

How about a Benchmade 940? Also some of the Cold Steel knives like the Voyager or Holdout series would do you well. I really like the 940 because for the size of the knife it does not even weigh 3 oz! Good Luck! Kevin :D
