Looking for an EDC pen around $50

I've been looking at some pens and not a whole lot of them appeal to me. The ones that do appeal to me are a little bit expensive. A pen that's durable is something that I really want. It can't break if I drop it on the ground or anything like that. I would prefer a black on black pen, but It's not a deal breaker by no means. Something black on black or silver on silver is something that I'm looking for. There are so many options, and I'm not really a "pen guy" so I don't know where to start. Thanks for any recommendations in advance.

Parker sells a large variety stainless steel retractable ball point pens. They are rugged, cheap, widely available, and can use the Fisher Space Pen refill. Some have a push button, some have a sliding cap, and some have a twisting cap. They are also available in Gold, Silver, brass, Titanium, and plastic. On the popular sales site, check out Parker 51 ballpoint pen, Parker 61 ball point pen, Parker 75 ball point pen, etc.

The Titaner is made of solid Ti, and is in your price range and specs.

Save some money and go for a modified Zebra F-701. I carry and use mine daily. I've gone through several refills (they last me about 6-7 months, but I write a lot). It costs about $20 to buy what you need and you're left with a second, nice writting pen you can give the wife.

The conversion is to make it all stainless, by combining the parts from a Zebra F-402 with the F-701. I also set mine up to use space pen refills, but that's not necesary. It takes maybe 20 minutes to do the work.

My Daughter has a S&W aluminum pen and she loves it. Has a stylus on one end for use with tablets/pads and it $39.99, probably cheaper from one of our dealers like Blade HQ or Knifecenter. S&W #*360004112

I just picked up a Zebra F-701 based on this post, and for $8 it is a hell of a pen! Mostly Stainless Steel, and a nice knurled grip.

I just don't like pens with removable caps, and that seems to be the norm with these tactical pens.

Would work just fine as a kuboton, and I would recommend it for the money.

Better to have a few of these in the car, in your pocket, at work, than to have 1 pen to lose IMHO. ;)

Yep, great pen. The conversion takes the button collar from the F-402 which is (I assume) nickel plated brass to look stainless and gives a full stainless colored pen. To use space pen refills you have to take the plastic bushing in the nose cone out or drill it out slightly. I drilled it out and put a tiny amount of graphite on the refill, keeps it from ratteling.
