not sure if this is the right area for this post, but here goes:

My boss is looking for a knife that he saw on the OLN network but cannont remember the actuall show, i have only heard it described, i looked and googled my eyes googly. I e-mailed him all the knives that i thought came closest even tho they where all folders and he is looking for a fixed. so i thought i'd ask around here and see if anybody here can help.

the knife as i understand it is a dual bladed fixed. i say dual blades but one is actually a gut hook, the other is a blade ( not sure of blade style). he says that the blades are on top of each other not side-by-side. Also holding the knife in hand with the cutting edge parallel to the ground, the hook curves down.

I have never seen anything like this and have a hard time visuilising(sp?) how one blade doesnt get in the way of the other.

on a side note, what impressed him was the cutting power the gut hook had when used on a deer, he said that it went right through the breast bone and all in one swipe. i dont hunt but i can imagine thats hard to do.

Thanks to all for reading this long post and for any help or info you maybe able to provide.

you are awesome!!!!!!!!!! it took me way longer to write that up then it took you to respond. i'll be gettin mad brownie points at wrk im sure. are there several different makers of this type of knife? what is this style called?

Glad to help, mate.

It's an odd duck, for sure. I handled a couple display models 2 years ago at Walmart and then again at Bass Pro. It seems pretty "gimmicky" to me, but to each his own. Both were "non-name-brand" and made in China.

Tell your boss I want half the brownie points!

I believe it is known as the oft sought but seldom found "left handed stove flue".
