Quick question: which model(s) has an integral clip like the Endura, but has tip-down, instead of tip-up?

I have several other Spydercos, but I'm always catching the clip on something, or scratching something, when I carry in my back pocket. However, the back of the blade on the Endura pokes into my wallet, because of the tip-up design....

The Military is always the first one I recommend. It is tip down and the best knife Spyderco makes IMHO.

I like the Starmate too, also the BF Native is hard to beat for a smaller knife, still with the most excellent CPM 440V...

Ewok,
By "integral" clip do you mean the "reversible" left to right type of clip as found on the newer Endura '98? If so, then ALL the Spyderco models with that style of reversible left to right clip are tip-up, as that's the only end of the knife that clip is able to be put on. If that type of clip were on the pivot end of the knife (by the blade), it would interfere with the blade's path and the lock mechanism. So, if you want a tip-down type of knife, but want the clip on the other side of the handle (for a left-hand set-up), you'll have to drill & tap it yourself on that side, or find someone to do it. I could do it for you, if you would like me to. The military you have is the best big knife (along with the Starmate) with a tip-down set-up.

Honey, I swear that's the last knife I'm going to buy...

No, I guess I have an older Endura. The clip is molded into the plastic.

Spyderco no longer makes molded integral clips because they found these to snap too easily. All of the models previously sporting them now have reversible metal clips that attach at thelanyard hole. This unfortunately means that they are all still tip-up. The only tip-down liteweight (Zytel) is, I believe, the Cricket, though the "coming soon" Liteweight Calypso Jr. will be tip-down.

The Dragonfly is tip-down, but I usually tuck mine in my front pocket, not the back. By the way, what's a wallet? I asked my wife (of 15 years last wednesday) and she just laughed...

wallet - noun - small flat usually leather case for holding banknotes, etc.

Wolf,
You must have a CF Dragonfly, as the ltwt. and SS Dragonflys have a tip-up configuration. The CF and SS flys have a removable metal clip, the ltwt. has the molded integral type. The only knives in their line that have the molded plastic clip (that I can think of) are the ltwt. fly, ProGrip, and ltwt. Walker. Ewok, Corduroy mentioned something I forgot about, the ltwt. Calypso that's due out soon. It will be tip-down, and will be a great everyday knife. I can't wait 'till I get one!

Out of all the Sydies I own, I like the Dragonfly the best. Mine is plain edge with the steel body. The blade is sharp and easy to handle. I use it as a money clip and haven't lost a bill yet.

Sure my Wegner, Military, and others are nicer but the dragonfly is always in pocket and the knife you have is better than the one you don't.
