what do you guys think of this knife...

WestWorld,

this is off topic, but I think that you might want to think about changing your "signature", as that "I love a parade" drawing with the sniper on the roof really won't get you too far here at BladeForums.

...Just something to think about...

That sig sure doesn’t make things easier for those of us that use our guns responsibly. Why would you use such a sig? It really just gives anti-gun groups more fuel.

It's crap like that sig line that makes it worse for all of us. You are entitled to your views, but keep them to yourself.

Paul

Sometimes I think some of these kids just make up something that in their own mind is "cool" and want to show it off. So they figure they will just ask the standard "what knife should I get" or some such question...basically just an excuse to post and show off their picture or whatever. No matter the reason, its in pretty poor taste to have a sig line like that.

Maybe you should skip the knife and work on growing up a bit.

First,
I'd suggest just buying another Spydie...maybe a Military.

And just as everyone else has mentioned...change your sig unless you want more flak because of it. A sig line like that gives responsible gun owners a bad name and that will not be tolerated here at the BF.

WestWorld,

I don't mean to pile on, Lord knows I've done stuff that's dumber than your pic, but the guys here are right.

Most likely, you're an Okay guy, just having some fun on his mother's computer. No big deal. I think it's a bit too soon after the snipings to do something so coarse. Now, truth be told, I've seen some real-deal nailers wear a T-shirt that says, "Run, and you'll just die tired." Kind of like gallow's humor. We all do it.

I happen to be a prairie dog shooter. I had a rifle built for really extreme hiking in South Dakota. You guessed it, the receiver is from an AR-15. During the sniper incident I got a lot of questions from my non-gun friends.

Back off a bit. Eat some crow and apologize. These are great guys here, and you should be a part of this world to learn some valuable stuff. You'll be glad you did.

Your sig sucks...but the Spyderco carbon fiber Delica doesn't. Check it out.
Matt

where do you guys get off... first of all not once in my sig did i say i am going to draw a bead on someone... hell, how do you not know that it is my job to protect elected officials at such events... it can ber percived as dark, but it would of been simple just to ask me explain... not once did any of you guys ask me to explain my sig... yet you all took it upon your selfs to instantly assume that i am the "BG"... isn't nice how the media has been able to use people as sheep and make them instantly assume that guns are bad err or if you say parade and rifle in the same sentence you get... anyhow i didn't come here to start **** just to get some info on some knifes...

peace....

I though I did ask you why you used that sig.

QUOTE]Why would you use such a sig?[/QUOTE]

Well, now I'm asking again, why would you use that sig? I'm a hunter and very aware of how the media and the general public view our guns, that's why I'm asking. If you know people are going to take it the wrong way, why use it? Again, why give anti-gun groups more fuel?

On another hand, thank you for removing your sig.

Get a grip and grow up a little. Your sig sent a definite negative message mixed with some dark humor.

This is especially callous after the sniper incident. Where there is smoke, there is fire. The media has nothing to do with it. You are the only one with the misunderstanding.

I guess you posted it in jest. Posted once, It would have been funny. Published as a signature, it points you out as the "disturbed".

As for you expecting someone to "ask for an explanation", get a life, nobody cares.

If you were a sniper protecting elected officials, which I find highly unlikely, you wouldn't find your own sig funny, or at least, you shouldn't.

That said, get the Benchmade Osborne 940.

As long as you get a benchmade, i'm sure you will be happy. And $200 to spend can get ya a nice one for sure!
My favorites are the 806 and my other afck's. I recently sent an older afck to benchmade for warranty and just got it back today.
The knife looks brand new and functions better than when i received it. Ya can't go wrong with benchmade.

hell, how do you not know that it is my job to protect elected officials at such events...
Is that really your job? Just curious. Didn't see your sig, ya musta changed it.

Good luck on upgrading to benchmade.

West,
First off, welcome to the forums! We tend to be friendly folks here, and the comments on your sig line were meant to be sound advice. Since you are new here, nobody is going to hold any grudges about stuff like that. Unfortunately, changing your sig line to something that is obviously a personal advertisement breaks specific rules we have. In order to offset the costs of operating the world's largest and most diverse knife discussion forum, we ask that those persons wishing to advertise here pay $30/year to become gold members. If you want to advertise, you need to pony up and place your ad in the appropriate forum in our advertising section.
BTW, The Native is now available in CPM S30v blade steel and is a cutting machine! You might want to consider it on your list of potentials. You liked the design before, and now it has been truly improved. Food for thought.
