Looking at the following so far:

Mini-Grip
707 Sequal
903 Stryker

I'm not really looking at the 94x series as I want to stay with 154cm and not spend 200 on a knife that will only be carried at the office.

I would definitely go with the 707. I recently was looking at a larger knife for after work carry and because I've grown to love the 707 I decided to go with the 710.

I picked up a mini-griptilian and had deathofallthings make a set of wood scales to dress it up a bit for carrying in the office.

The 707 Sequel is a great little knife and I love mine. But if you are looking for small "Gentleman's Folder" type knives, then here are a couple to consider. Both are S30V steel and neither are Axis lock but for office they would be great choices. Both are very classy.

482 Megumi - Available for $148 online.

440 Opportunist - Discontinued but I think I know of a place to get one online for $117

The Sequel is a whole lotta knife in a very compact package. I've got one in my pocket right now. I like it a little better than my Mini-Grip, but either one of them would do you just fine.

I own the 707 in 154CM and the 707-1201 in M390. It would make an excellent "office" knife. There is a lot of blade packed into a very thin and small package, however I would suggest you handle one before purchasing. The fact that it is so small and thin makes it great for carry and not frightening your co-workers, but it also makes it a little uncomfortable and difficult to use sometimes. I know it is not just me, because others have mentioned this also.

I'll go either mini-grip with mod handle or 903/4. Also, Mini-Presidio, and 531 comes to my mind. I suppose Rift is a bit too big for this?

940 is not just a "office" only knife, but it is a switch hitter. It can be used on heavier duty. You know about this video of BKC strength test, right?

IMO only reason most of people call it "Work Day Carry" is the fact we have so many Benchmade knives that out of collection 94X are most suited in the office. (Granted that HR allows it, and compliant to the local law). Granted, it has narrower profile handle, but it is far unobtrusive than most of other Benchmade. Modern art look of aluminum handle also adds to the first glance impression of some gentleman's accessory in front of "sheeple". Carrying 810 class knifes would surely arouse bug eyed look in your office as you know.

I agree, harris. I've got medium-sized hands and I can just barely get all 4 fingers around the Sequel's handle using a hammer grip. Anything smaller wouldn't be comfortable for me to use.

An office knife should be thin... of your list, I'd go 707, six ways to Sunday. :) I've always thought the 707 was equivalent to the iconic Spyderco Delica, in terms of EDC all-rounder-ness... but with the much better Axis lock!

I wouldn't fear leaving 154cm, though... and the 940's can be found cheaper than $200. I'd also say, however, that a 940 could be a bit long for an ideal office knife (sheeple could be scared). Which leads me back to the 707. Good luck!

I carried the 810 until someone said something. Then I switched to the 710 which is far less intimidating in their eyes so it hasn't been an issue. But I work on a Naval base so YMMV.

Of your three options listed, I would go for the 707.

I've carried large knives before at work. They are just overkill for my pants (and most tasks). lol

I ended up buying a mini grip at a good price. Keyman; I may be looking at you for some scales soon.

That 903 is calling me though...I may pick one of those up too.

707 all the way, mine has not left my pocket for anything else in over a year. I design and build custom equipment and deal with boxes, plastic, rubber, wood, metal, diesel fuel, oils, and hydraulic fluid, nothing has bothered the 707. I have no issues gripping it with oily hands and it cleans up very easily. Plus, the guys at work like to barrow it if they need a sharp knife.

I've been carrying the 903 for about 2 weeks now to the office (I'm a network admin) and I love it. Deep carry clip, and it's the perfect size.

I EDC a M390 707 with the 705BW wood handle inlays and love it. I carry it more than any other knife. I like the compact nature of the 707, plus I really like the blade shape/grind and the M390 is spectacular. I have a standard 707 in 154CM, but almost never carry it because the M390 lasts me at least 5 times as long between touchups compared to the 154CM, D2, and S30V 705's and 707's I own (it's a really pronounced difference)
