Like some people here I've wanted the Busse Team Gemini knife ever since I learned about it on The Walking Dead. But $400 for one knife strikes me as a lot and I have a hard time justifying it. Especially when I know so little about them.

What is it about Busse knives that make them so much better from any of their competitors with significantly lower price ranges. How is the Team Gemini better than the Becker BK9 in terms of build, durability and steel quality?

Busse knives are backed by a lifetime warranty. They have been tested over and over again by numerous individuals not associated with the company and the results have spoken for themselves. Jerry has litterally put years of Blood, Sweat and Tears (unicorn that is :p) into making his knives perform to their absolute max. He did not stop there, he continually is trying to improve the toughness of his knives. I have used and tested a lot of knives over the years and I am still amazed at the abuse they can take. I am sure that there will be others who will come along and add there thoughts.

Hope Eric doesn't mind me stealing this.

There is the sticky a little bit down from the top of the forum too, here

There is usually some amount of exaggeration in any test/marketing scheme... I have yet to find it in the Busse line. I simply haven't found anything that stops my TGLB. It's not a dedicated chopper, but it chops. It's not a fillet knife, but it shaves hair like a USMC barber. What attracted me to the TGLB was the looks. THEN I did some reading on them and was sold. Spend some time on the google.

Using these knives is like having a one-night stand with a woman that was just released from prison. You'll give up long before the knife does.

I've always liked this thread. DowntownDM beat the snot out of a hardened steel chain with his ASH-1 and actually cut through it in about 20 swings. While he did chip the edge doing it (pretty small chip for the amount of abuse), I doubt very much the Becker BK9 you mentioned could have cut through a hardened steel chain, and if it did could have sustained so little damage to the knife.

The best thing about this in my opinion is that Busse stood behind the knife and fixed it for him. Try sending a knife back to another manufacturer with pictures showing you doing this and see what they say.

EDIT: And make sure you read Jerry's post towards the bottom of the first page. You gotta love and respect the guy.
