Looking for custom knife maker.

Some time back, at some point or another, we were talking about something and someone had mentioned a custom knifemaker they had used that was really reasonable price wise and made them a fantastic product. I can't remember who it was they said though. I remember looking up that persons website and they had a good bit of your standard bushcraft knives as well as some pics of some more "tactical" looking stuff. Name might have started with a "J" or a "K" or something. Can't remember.

Ringing any bells?

If not, got any suggestions for a custom knife maker that is really reasonable on pricing? Really considering the idea of getting my "Brutus" made by someone. Still needs tweaks and such, but would like to talk to someone to maybe get the ball rolling.
 
I know JK knives has a great reputation around here. A lot of folks carrying his blades!

I have blades from both Bill Akers, and David Farmer. Both of them make awesome knives!!
 
I believe that the direction that lead me there was the person had made a small psk knife for a really reasonable price. The memory, she ain't what she used to be.
 
Koster knives maybe? Anyone ever get anything through them?
 
I am really looking hard at Fletcher knives. Anyone ever do business with them?
 
Shawn SDS knife works does some nice work at a good price, he can use your designs if you want, hes making me a MUK and it has been the best knife ordering experience Ive ever had

I've never done any business with him, but there's a lot of folks who have his stuff. Reasonable cost is subjective. His cost a little more than I'm willing to spend right now!

Fletcher makes some wicked stuff! I like the looks of his blades, a lot!

No matter who you go with, be prepared for a pretty good wait. The list is usually pretty long for most custom makers...
 
Siegle is a nice fella too. 5160. makes reasonable knives, and does a killer edge.
 
Ya know, a thought just occured to me (and it hurt!), but Cody1, one of our fellow Beckerheads is a knife maker! Have you talked to him?

Mark Wohlwend would do it. That's who I'd recommend. He loves new designs. Go to his forum and check out his version of the WSK. It's awesome.
 
All the makerrs mentioned make great knives. It really depends on what you are looking for. They all have their own styles and in turn, it might not fit yours. Figure out whats importnat to you in a knife and go from there. I have psks from John, Mark, and Bill Akers, and they are all great, just different. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions.
