Hey guys,

I'm looking for someone to make me some heavy duty leather sheaths for a couple of my knives. Can anybody refer me to anyone really good?

I've had some made for me in the past that were really nice, beautiful even, but they were a little too fancy and not heavy duty enough.

I'm looking for Randall type sheaths, no fancy carving, no fancy stamping, and black. Nice thick welts too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jared Place

One of our members---Lifter4him---does some terrific work. Do a search and you'll come up with his site. If I run into it, I'll post it here. I think he's what you are looking for.

Lifter is great, He does great work and I recommend him wholeheartedly...
But, if you want a Randall Sheath, Sullivan's Holster Shop in Tampa Flordida is the OEM maker for Randall and they do take custom jobs...

Dwayne, Leatherman here on BFC, does awesome work, he made me a beautiful sheath, and is making me a belt. He has some pics of Randal style sheaths on his website, check it out. And it you do want to go fancy, he does the awesomest snakeskin inlays, and some breath taking carving as well!

Mike Bartol (MtMike) makes super tough, hard use leather sheaths at a fair price. I'm going to have him put some pants on my INFIcoot.

I'll second Mike as a heavy duty USE leather guy. He's been in the field and that's how he builds em.

You can get prettier, but you can't get tougher.

Lifter made a couple of sheaths for me (fixed blade and zippo lighter), and I have one from MtMike for a Howling Rat that looks similar to the one in the pic. Both are top notch.
Kenny Rowe is another quality maker who is a pleasure to deal with.
