Looking for custom Wharncliffs

Hello gents,

I started a thread in the General Discussion a while back asking about Wharncliff blades and got a few good answers, but I decided to come to the Custom Forum and see if I can be a little more specific. I've also just recently begun dipping my toe into the large, and very deep, pool of custom knives, and while I'm still terrified that a giant tentacled monster is about to fling an arm out and drag me and my wallet screaming down below the murky depths, I've decided that its time to focus a little bit more on custom knives.

The fact is, if you're into higher end, and higher priced, production knives like Busse/Swamp Rat, Ltd Edition Zero Tolerance, Microtech, and others, then you're well into the Custom pricing range anyway.

So, as far as Wharncliff blades go, I'm primarily looking for one or two fixed blades..........a good example of the type that I'm looking for is this:

Now, obviously it doesn't have to be exactly like that, but thats a general approximation. Blade length of 6-8 inches. The only thing that I would really prefer is to have it in a "super-stainless" or a high carbon steel that takes and holds an edge extremely well. Handle material, thickness, handle shape are all things that can be worked out or adjusted to later. This knife ( or one of these is I find two ) will definitely end up being a user that I'll have a friend make a really nice leather sheath for. The other may be more of a fine looking collectible, but I do like to have all of my knives be "usable" if I ever decide to. Nothing that is pretty simply for pretty sake.

I'm primarily looking for a fixed blade or two, but I am also fond of folding wharncliff's, as well. To give you an idea of the types of folding wharny's that I like, Yuna's Zen and Zombie Slayer ( below ) really epitomize the type that I appreciate, and in M390 or ZDP-189 no less.....They're awesome blades, and I do intend to get one or both.

So, have any other recommendations? I'd love to stay under $500-$600, but if something just blows my mind, I might go higher.

Thanks for any help that you can offer.

I did see a Lambert collaberation that I liked recently. I think it was a Pirela/Lambert.

Course the $950 price tag would be tough to swallow

Why? That's a real reasonable price for what you are getting.
