Looking for estimated values

I have two Buck 110 knives that I am looking for estimated values.
One is a Brown Bone Damascus 110 DB, the second is a Stag 110 Damascus that was 1 of 250 produced for the 1990 Blade Show. I have not been successful in locating value information. Both knives are in their original boxes, and have sheaths. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Blade, Welcome to the Buck forum . I'm no expert on the knives your asking about but I know enough to realize you have some nice knives . Someone will be along here shortly to better answer your question . DM

Welcome to the forum 06.

You might go to the Buck website and do an online build of a similar knife. Might be a learning curve for you, but will give and idea of current cost for similar to yours.

But I don't believe there are any damascus options there.

Least last time I looked.

I haven't been keeping track of late. Ebay might be a place to watch for similar knives.

Oh yeah.....pics would be good...

I agree with Ratty, go to ebay for cost comparisons- I have seen a number of Damascus blades and varying handle materials, all are fetching good prices for the sellers IMHO. There should be enough to get an idea. I'm not sure if you could go on Levines subforum and get a price or not-he's considered the leader in such things from what I know. In the mean time, welcome to the Buck forum and indeed, post some pics.

Pictures are always welcome, From my humble experience limited edition knives where once a great collector item, but now it seems as though LE don't fetch any more than the original purchase price. This applies to most LE but there are some exceptions, as always. Welcome to the forum

If the knives are unused, unsharpened by the owner and with the original boxes and paperwork, LEs will hold their value and maybe even increase in value over time. Sambar Stag in particular has taken a jump in price since the embargo of 2000 so you may notice a marked increase in value there.

In the past year I have bought Sambar Stag 110s from other owners, NIB, for prices starting at $125 and going as high as $225.

The type of blade steel will make a difference, too. A Sambar Stag 110 with a BG-42, 154cm, CPM 154 or S30V blade steel will fetch more, if all else is the same, than a 425M or 420HC steel blade. Especially if it is a premium steel no longer in standard production by Buck.

If pictures will help, will try to get those in the next day or so. The knives are new, never used, never sharpened since purchase, in the original boxes they came in sometime in the early 90's. Thanks for the information.

Blade 0616, are you looking to sell them?

You could sell them on the Bucks for Sale forum if you register as a Gold Member. Or auction them on e-bay. In any case, pictures do help.

There are a lot of collectors on this forum who would take serious interest if your price wasn't too outrageous. :)

Welcome to the Buck forum!
I agree with Wolf. Damascus hasnt been used by Buck in quite some time! LOTS of guys collect them! Also they are still original NIB from the early 90's. (that helps alot)
Brown bone and stag, probably some of the best for collectors ;)

Value is really determined by who wants it and how bad but I think Wolf is pretty close in his assessment. I would tend to lean towards the high side myself, but then again I am no expert... :)
Good luck!

This one came out of the custom shop, but you will get a ballpark idea.

Blade I'm surely not the guy to know what your knives are worth but others on the forum are expert collectors.Welcome to the Buck forum Blade.

I would agree with wolfdog on the price range (perhaps the higher end of the range). But, if the wind is blowing the right direction, that particular model could sell for more on any given day. I have two of those. One with a box and one without.

Thanks for the pictures, that's what I have. They are not for sale, I just need to get an idea as to what the collector value might be. Thanks for the help.

That's quite a collection there, 2TONYB!

If you are trying to value a knife for insurance purposes, you can add a bit more. If you are trying to replace it you may have to spend time and money searching for it and pay a premium price for it when and if you do come across one for sale. I usually figure a probable selling price and add 50%.
