I'm looking for some general feedback on this knife I made from an old Simons mill bastard file. Any comments on build quality and general design are much appreciated. Tell me what I need to work on and maybe even how if your feeling generous.
Knife specs:
Stock:6 7/8x1 9/32x 7/32 inch mill bastard file by Simons USA (I believe it's 1095 from testing on the other half with heat treatment) the blade is 2 7/8 inch.
Wood: Osage with a brass pin teated with boiled linseed oil 4 coats put on 10 minutes apart from each other.
Used a 1x30 grinder for the shaping with Norton 80 grit belts.
The blade consists of 3 grinds. A partal full flat grind, a secondary bevel and a thin micro bevel, the secondary and micro were done freehand on wet stones 200 grit through 6000 grit and the edge was finished on a strop with 1/4 micron diamond spray.
The end of the blade was shaped into a glad head screw driver/ pry bar so you done have to use your knife blade for those horrid tasks that sometimes need to be done.
The sheath was made of 8-10 oz veg taned leather. To bind the layers I ised leather cement and artificial wax coated sinue. The brown leather acts as a belt loop for behind the back horizontal draw. Finished with 4 way care leather conditioner. If you want any extra photos just let me know and I appretiate the time and feedback from anyone who take a look.
