I would like to know if there is anyone out there that has any knowledge of this knife. I am interested in purchasing and would like to know if it is worth the trouble.

I wouldn't recommend it. I bought one several years ago, and sold it within a few months. It was well built, but the shape of the handle was very uncomfortable, the edge was way too thick and I'm personally not a fan of partial serrations. My biggest complaint was the handle, it's just a square chunk of Zytel, not very comfortable for long term use at all. I would recommend taking a look at the Becker line, or if you insist on stainless give Fallkniven a try. There are of course many others, these are just two I can think of off the top of my head.

i have a seal pup, and it is a very nice blade that i think i only paid like 45 dollars for. the handle egronomics as stated could be better but the other than that its a great blade. my only problem with it is that the sheath(i think its molded plastic) really scratches the blade and rubs the finnish off very quickly. just my .02 cents.

I would mirror Roadrunners comments strongly. I would also add the serrations are not nearly as efficient as those used by Mission or Spyderco. If you definately need stainless Fallkniven makes directly better knives, You could also try a stainless Leuko from Rangars Forge. If you don't need stainless the Becker CU/7 is a directly better knife than the SOG SEAL 2000. The Camp Tramp is a better knife again but more expensive. You could also try a stainless Leuko from Rangars Forge.

It scares me when I agree with Cliff :D, but I'd have to say that either the Becker BK-7 or the Fallkniven (A1) would be a much better choice than the SOG Seal 2000. (And I have a SOG Seal 2000.). I received a Fallkniven A1 from a trade a couple days ago, and I am VERY impressed with the QUALITY of this knife...And for a carbon steel knife, the Becker BK7 is a pretty good choice.
