Hello everyone! I am completely newbie in this thing and I am desperately looking for some professional opinion. Just a month ago I bought my first knife Cold Steel Voyager Large with VG-1 steel and I am very very happy with this folder knife. But now I need a little bit more bigger knife with fixed blade. For about one week of searching, googling and reading the knife that liked me the most is Fallkniven NL2 Odin (NL1 is also great but I am afraid that it is too big). For me the most important thing is the shape. I just need to really like the knife. Then I need a high quality knife with a good steel - VG-10 for example. This are my criteria. I will use the knife for almost everything - food, meat, rope, wood (very rarely).
So the question is: Is this NL2 Odin a good choice or I should look for some other knife in the same price range, but with similar shape? I just like the classic shape of NL2 Odin and Cold Steel Recon Scout. By the way: is the steel in NL2 Odin really better than Recon Scout, because NL2 is a 4 times more expensive? I am concerned about this black cover of the Recon Scout too. Is it easy to scratch? I do not want ugly scratches on my knife and I prefer a classic steel colour.
Thank you!
