looking for a fully serrated folder in the 100 dollar range give or take some, obviously the cheaper the better but i'd pay more for a better knife. has to be a folder, no preference on scale material, no lock backs, preferbly no liner lock but i doubt thats going to happen, blade should be around 3.5" non coated, would be nice if it had a reversible clip, blade style does not matter, any suggestions?

You got your coldsteel voyager series that is well below 100. You got spyderco, delica, harpy,rescue/jr, merlin and native in SE.

My choice would be the delica or the rescue jr. The rescue jr has the added benifit of being blunt tipped, safer to work with and less threatening overall shoud u be using it around non-knife ppl.

Benchmade recsue stryker. It's a liner lock though. I was trying to think of any arc-lock or axis-lock fully serrated folders but couldn't think of any. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion.

You mentioned no lock-backs, but the best all-serrated knives are, IMO, lockbacks. They include the Spyderco Endura, Police, Delica, etc. They are also within your preferred price range.

If I were you, I'd forget the "no lockback" requirement, and buy yourself a Spyderco Endura. That is THE folder that you are looking for.:).

Serrated Spyderco Military if you want a pointy tip, otherwise Spyderco Rescue (large) is classic serrated blade. Remember, you won't find better serrations than Spyderco:)

Hey Manji,

Is there any reason why you don't want a lock back?
other than lock back, or liner lock, you've only got compression lock, which can be dangerous if the knife closes when using it, and can cut your fingers!

seriously, consider a Spyderco! They are quality knives which fits all your other requirements: blade length, full SE, reversable clip, etc.

like the others, i would personally recommmend a Spydie!!!!

you can't go wrong with a Spydie. :D

My suggestions;

Military SE--4" blade, G10 scales, CPM440V steel, and has the BEST linerlock (nested in G10) out there,

Endura SE--TOUGH lockback, VG-10 steel, blade slightly less than 4", FRN textured handle, and reversible ambidextrous clip.

IMO, either of these two models, with the full Spyderedge, could handle ANY task that you throw at them....and they would still be hungry for more. :D ;) :D

Impyboy: By design, any folder with a lock will fail if you put enough pressure, but I think the compression lock is much harder to fail before you would fail the liner locks.
I think you shouldn't throw out the lockbacks. You'll be throwing out a lot of serrated blades from spyderco, which they definately come SHARP! Compression Lock is better than liner because it's much harder to fail. Liner locks rely on having the liner touching the tang enough, if it's not properly designed or the materials used are defective, the liner could bounce back and release or even buckle (this would probably happen to those cheap knockoffs). Compression lock have the liner engage the tang and the stop pin (at the part of the tang near the spine when it's open). It's hard for the liner to slip off the tang, and you'd find yourself put a lot of pressure on the liner to cause the liner to fail (other than slipping off the tang)

well, i said no lockbacks cause i know people were going to suggest the spydercos - endura, delica etc. I know these are great knives and a lot of people like them but i don't. not much of a cold steel fan either, the BM rescue is number one on my list right now, and besides lockback, compression, and liner lock there are also axis lock, framelock, matt lock and various other less common lock types. what i really want is a axis lock but thats not going to happen but anyone know if there is a framlock out there thats fully serrated?

I used to be a real advocate for fully ser. blades. Of the many I've owned and USED, I'd recommend the following three:
Spydie Viele (IMO the best Spyderco available)
CRKT lg. Apache (WICKED, but kinda hard to find)
Spydie Military
Of course, these are all linerlocks...can't recall anyone offering a good framelock that's fully ser.. I'm sure the BM Rescue is a good knife, but I've never owned one, thus cannot comment.

Again, why do you want a fully-serrated blade? They are a true pain in the tail to sharpen, they snag on things when you cut with them, and they tend to be viewed as "evil" by non-knife people who associate serrations with teeth and "Killer Knives". So, unless you need it for a particular purpose, such as cutting PVC pipe or carpets, I rather doubt that a fully-serrated knife is a very good idea as an EDC.

If I remember correcly, there used to be a fully serrated version of the CRKT S-2. These were discontinued a while ago, but there may be one floating around. It has titanium handles and a frame lock ala Sebenzas, and an ATS-34 blade. I think that Mike Turber was selling off some of these from his WOW closeout(almost 2 years ago) I'm sure they're gone by now, but maybe some forum members still have one lying around.

Good luck,
DD

A fully serrated knife is the best tool for cutting branches, carpet, rope, ect. Go with the Spyderco Military, even though it is a liner lock it is one of the best out there, especially because it is nestled.

i think the s-2 is still available on ebay for like 30 bucks didn't know they made a fully serrated version, the afck is good but it's a combo edge only i think? and i want a fully serrated blade to carry along a plain edge and i actually find them easier to sharpen then plain blades of the same steel since it's much thinner. thanks for the suggestions i'll take them all into consideration, even the spydies
