Yeah so, I'm looking to buy at least 2 18650 rechargeable batteries with a charger and I just don't understand the results that come up with Google search, too battery technical for me.
Panasonic appears to be good but it's all branded weird, like Panasonic cells but some brand I've never heard of before. I just bought a Nitecore Hybrid and it comes with their 18650 battery, if I like them enough I guess I'll just go with them but I do want something better, they only have 2600mah, I want some serious power 3400mah:)

How much of a difference does it make with 2600 vs 3400mah? Please explain in ENGLISH.

Don't really want to spend too much, keep it under $40 for batteries and charger.
If you have pics of your current battery setup that'd be great too, because pics are always better than reading sentence after sentence.

Thanks, and what is everyone's favorite EDC light? I have yet to find mine.

These are the 18650's I use, they're great. They're Panasonic cells, branded as Orbtronic. Battery makers buy the cells from Panasonic, add a protective circuit and wrap it in paper to brand it as whatever. The important thing is the cell maker and whether it has the protection circuit installed.

mAh (milliampere-hour) is basically capacity of the battery. 3400 vs 2600, for instance, 3400 "should" run longer than 2600 when put head to head in the same device.

My favorite EDC light right now is the Fenix PD32 Ulitmate Edition.

The charge I use is a Pila, not the one sold with the battery package.

Hi,
You might want to check out the AW brand from Lighthound.com also. Some very serious tech guys swear by them. I have a couple as well as other brands for my two Fenix lights. Also, it is a good idea to pick up a volt meter to check both low and high specs. Protected batteries help, but should that circuit fail these things can and have become dangerous. Best to check them before and after charging.
Cheers...

Usually in a jacket pocket if I'm wearing one, in a cargo pocket if I'm wearing those, otherwise in my back pocket.

AW cells have long been trusted by the geeks over at CPF
I use nothing but AW protected cells in my lights now (but i did use Pila cellls, way back when they were the only option)

As for the mah rating of batteries - its how much energy they contain
If a light draws one amp - it will run 2hrs on a 2000mah battery and 3hrs on a 3000mah battery
(Assuming the batteries are labelled honestly, and ignoring peukerts law)

AW 18650 cells will run 12-16 bucks per cell over at lighthound (you want the black label protected cells)
As for chargers - cottonpickers does a nice usb charger, that is very affordable

I use an old Pila charger - their newer version is supposed to be very good

I've been using Ultrafire 3.7v 4000mAh batteries in my Nitecore MT26 & Eagletac D25LC2. I am not a battery person and I've never tested them in anyway other than normal use, but they have been great for me. They ran me $11 per pair on ebay.

My charger is a Nitecore i4 which I also picked up on ebay for $23 shipped. I use it several times a week to charge Eneloops, 14500s, and 18650s.

The 18650 battery has three main types are IMR18650, INR18650 and ICR18650. The each of them has different features. It depends on what you need for, you maybe need high-drain discharge for e-cigar, flashlights or/and high-capacity for digital devices such as cameras, radio, etc.
You can visit Which 18650 Battery Is Your BEST Choice? for more information. And hope them helps you! ;)
