Guys,

This may be a stupid question, but I have been looking for a good supplier of brass, nickel silver and bronze, 1/8" or thicker. I've run a bunch of web searches and I still can't seem to find them. All of the scrap metal guys around here "just don't see that kind of stuff coming through here anymore".
Money is kind of an object but I really just need the contacts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again,

Bradley

I found that the seller 'onlinemetals' on ebay has pretty good deals on brass. I don't work with nickel silver due to the cost. If you like stainless you could check a local welding & fab shop, they're likely to have stainless stuff.

Jantz supply has some stuff. Other knife making supply housed do as well.

If you post where you are someone may have a supplier local to you

Try McMaster Carr, www.mcmaster.com, for brass and Stainless bar stock. You can get various types of bronze also. Nickel silver is a bit harder to find outside of the knife suppliers in small quantities.

All of the knifemaking supply houses have what you're looking for. Also try ebay. Just type in their search what you want and you will find pleanty of listings. Good luck. Dave

Another place to try are the small investment foundrys. Many of them pour nickle silver (white brass) and a small scrap casting could yeald a number of knife parts.

Thanks for all the links guys. I am located in Booneville, MS, just up the road from Bruce Evans. He was my teacher. That was the reason why I posted was cause he has been looking for the nickel silver too. But as for me, I am just getting started in my own shop and I needed to know where I could come by it relatively easily. Thanks again guys.

Thanks again guys. I really appreciate the links. Mr. Lovett, I don't need much right now because I am just getting started. My email is bradleyhooper@gmail.com. Let me know about the sizes and costs and I may buy some from ya.

Thanks again

Bradley
