Looking for heat treat furnace

I'm needing a small electric furnace to heat treat gun parts, homemade tools and knife blades. Looking for plans or web sites that show how to build your own or a place that sells them at a reasonable cost.

What is the best reference and instructional books I need to get up to speed on heat treating and tempering?
