Hi all,
I've read through the mega thread on building your own surface grinder attachment:

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/home-built-surface-grinder.1532559/

and come to the conclusion that my workshop needs one! I was looking at the recommended part for the slide plate (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32612615636.html) to adjust the grind level and the total cost inc. shipping comes to £107 GBP / $135 USD which feels a bit pricey.

I was looking for advice from someone who's built their own on whether either of the two alternatives I found might work:

The budget option: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000256618259.html
Only ~£15 and I like the fact it's got a dovetail style rail but wonder if the die cast will be strong enough

The middle option: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32870878662.html
Comes in at £47 and looks pretty solid with the two guide rails

What do you all think? Any advice very much appreciated!

At the risk of seeming like a ..... I'll put this forth. Every one of us who built a SG attachment is thrifty. We all searched for the cheapest way to buy the parts that would do the job. We all posted what we bought. If there was a cheaper way to make a reliable tool we would have took that route. Take your best shot and post up the results. We're always willing for someone to show us a better way.
