I'm looking for a fixed Japanese style blade. I would like the blade to have a hamon and the handle wrapped with Rayskin and cord like a Katanna or Tanto. Is there any production knives or customs that fit this description?

ShadowBlade, are you looking for a sword (Katana, Wakizashi, Tanto) or more of a pocket knife.

If you are looking for a sword, I own two of the Paul Chen (Hanwei) models and was pleased with the quality. I especially like my Practical Plus Katana (2073) which has a genuine ray skin handle, but the wrapping is leather - feels asome in the hand! You can see some of there models form the below website:

On the pocket knife side, I always thought some of the Mcusta were sweet looking, although I have never owned one.

www.dick.biz also has nice selection of custom traditinal japanese blades.

Thanks, Vassili.

If you want a knife with a true hamon you will probably end up spending more than you are thinking. A hamon is a halmark of serious japanese blades and many schools of smithing had there own signature hamon lines. Many great knife makers today even add them to Bowies, Don Fogg comes to mind instantly. If you are looking for a modern knife with a hamon you may be looking for a custom.
