Greetings all,
I’m a newbie here to the forum, and searched you out at the recommendation of a friend and knife collector.
I’ve been going through some old items that were left to me by my late father, one of which is a straight-blade sheath knife of unknown origin. I’m assuming he acquired it sometime during WWII, possibly while stationed in Northern Africa - specifically Algeria - during the last two years of the war. If any of you are historically savvy and can help me identify its origin, I would be greatly appreciative. It’s approximately 10” long, has wood and a dark material which makes up the handle, and the sheath is leather. The stamped markings appear to be somewhat religious (Christian). I can’t find anything through Google searches or from the members of a Facebook page for knife collectors to which I belong.
Thank you so much for your time. I’m excited to learn and anxious to find out something about this knife in particular.
As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures, I will do so. Until then, you’re welcome to contact me directly via email at motordjbear@yahoo.com.
Cheers!
