My dad passed away this past year, and as my mom and I are going through some of his things, we came across a new, what looks like a hunting knife in a sheath. It has never been used, but he must have purchased it in the 80's with his compass when he was still deer hunting. he never did get a deer, which explains why it is unused.

I am new to forums and cannot figure out how to attach a photo to this thread, but I am looking to see if anyone has an idea of what kind of knife this is and if it is of any value or if we should just put in on the garage sale. I can email photos.

Thank you for any insight you can give.

Use imgur and post up the link. Posting up a brand or name on the blade would help.

We can help you identify the knife, but not it's value unless you upgrade your membership.

Use Imgur to post pictures...

Sorry about your father.
As said we can't help pin down a value without you having a gold membership.

But I may suggest you search past sales on eBay, and you could get a pretty good idea.

I'm guessing dollar value wouldn't be near as large as any sentimental value.
If that were mine, you couldn't get that from me for any amount of money.

It's a good looking knife.
It's yours now.👍
Hopefully someday you can pass it down a generation.

Thank you for your kind words. You are right as far as sentimental value winning over dollar value. My mom will most likely give it to my brother being it was his only son and he is a hunter.
