I would like to see some pics if you have em. Everybody likes pics. With my new Shapton water stones this give me a full set of DMT plates along with the stones and all the other paraphernalia that goes along with sharpening . Before I moved I had a dedicated "hobby" table. It's where I reloaded, sharpened my knives and cleaned my guns and I was able to just put them on a shelf above the table. In this tiny but temporary condo (looking for a house) I don't have the room. I'm looking for ideas, maybe even a toolbox with slide out trays to store???? I can't help it I'm and organizational freak. :o

I broke down and bought a steel tool chest with thin drawers. Buy the largest one you can afford - you'll find things to fill it up with. The stones are easy to get at and completely protected. Some of the less expensive plastic tackle boxes work well also.

Drail, would you mind posting a pic of your box. Or a link to where I could look at it.

I recently knocked out a few simple boxes for some of my stones. Normally they are kept in a big plastic tray on a shelf in my workshop, wrapped individually in a rag or paper and transported wrapped up in a small gear bag. I still keep them wrapped in paper in these boxes, are a good height if I'm working from a normal table, on a countertop or benchtop, I just use the lid for a base.

The red box is an old Dremel case with holes drilled in it. This is the travel case for my waterstones. Doubles as a bath, and when done I drain it out, put the stones inside, and the moisture can escape out the holes instead of blossoming on the stones.
