I purched a small hand axe at a auction,it is all one piece constuction.the only marking on it is J.E Ferguson ,the leather sheth is marked on the back JEF 64 88 ATS 34 ,it has iron wood handles and brass rivits.the piece is very well done having trouble finding any info on the maker.
Thanks for any help

In this case a picture is very much in order. Not because I might know anything about JEFerguson goodies but because the method of manufacture is intriguing. "Ironwood handles and brass rivets" are not yer usual ways of making things such as this.

I would be happy to post pics but I am not that computer savvy , i would be happy to email pics to somebody that could post them.
Thanks

Looks like J. E. Ferguson is a custom knife maker. Some of his knives were on the auction site, but no easy-to-find information on the guy (maybe he "retired" before online commerce took off).

That is the same signature that is on it I would love to post some pics ,it is a nice pice no luck getting them on yet,
Thanks

The knives (or axe) with the stamp "J.E. Ferguson" on the blade are made by Jim Ferguson of San Angelo, Texas. His daughter is my longtime girlfriend and Jim made me a custom hunting knife with Desert Iron Wood handle for my bday.. It just arrived today and is unbelievable. If anyone has any further questions or wants to get in touch with Jim feel free to email me at conn_84@hotmail.com and I can pass along the info/questions

Jim Ferguson retired within the past few years from making knives unfortunately. I’m his son and I didn’t even get to buy a knife from him before he stopped, but it is what it is. The cartilage in his thumbs are basically gone from what he’s said. If anyone wants to sell one of his knives to me, I’d appreciate it. My email is nferguson3159@gmail.com. I’ve been wanting to get one of his knives for my kit and integrate it on my gun belt or plate carrier. You can’t find his knives anywhere. This thread is probably dead but I thought I’d try.
