I have a very large Sword about 36 inches of blade with about 12 inches of grip. It is a a true monster. I am looking for some info. The guy I bought it from said it was a cerimonial blade for removing heads from bulls. I have not seen any other blades that size. So just wondering if anyone knows any info. Thanks

Called a janawar katne ("animal cutter"), and primarily designed for the tourist market

'cause a knife that big is too unwieldy to be really useful. Most Dasein sacrifices of water buffalo calves are really done with somewhat smaller khukuris

Berk is correct about your oversized kukri. There are authentic Janawar or Olkadhunga (IE: not tourist trade) kukris that are used as ceremonial knives used to kill water buffalo or goats. They are normally smaller than what you have and many look like this.
