I think I saw pictures of butterflys by this maker here before, but I can't find any information about this knife. I bought it for $20 at a gun show in Phoenix, next to it was a neon yellow Frost Cutlery for the same price. I only had $20 on me after paying for tickets and parking, so I got the knife I knew about the least.
It is a clip point with a swedge running 2/3rds of the blade that is sharpened just as sharp as the blade, which is nothing compared to my 42, but something I found interesting. One side of the blade has "SPECIAL FORCES" printed above a dog's head with a beret (as in green berets) on it. At the tang, "STAINLESS" is stamped. The handles are very heavy, bantagas latch, and polished so it is hard to see the pivot pins. There are inlays of black plastic on the handles.
The latch was a real disappointment. When closed, the knife handles would touch each other and a large section of the latch sticks out. The latch itself appears to be stamped alumnium with a hole in it near the tab with a plastic plug which I guess is supposed to be for friction against the other handle. The latch is so poor I thought it was a replacment, but the latch pin is just as polished as the pivot pins are
Any information about this?
BTW, Its been a long time since I posted and I see you have had issues with the no-longer free patent search... I found another patent site that is free, the only thing that sucks is they use huge TIFF images for the patent pages... http://www.uspto.gov
