Looking for info on Special or Limited Edition Bucks

I was in Dick's Sporting Goods a few weeks ago and saw a fancy special or limited edition Buck fixed blade. I can't even remember the model number, but I really liked it and they are gone now. How do you find out about what special knives are available, or what has been available in the past? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
 
How long was the blade approximately and was the blade fairly straight or did it have a distinct and pronounced curve to it?

Handles stag or wood?
 
I think it was a drop point blade about 4-5". I'm pretty sure it had stag handles. The reason it caught my eye is that the production date was within a few days of my sons birth (October 2006), so I thought it might make a nice keepsake.

I am also interested in how to find out about other special editions too. Thanks!
 
This years stuff is on their webiste. However, I don't think it covers special runs that might be made for big buyers.

I'm sure someone more knowledgable will chime in before long.

They have some great looking LE's out there. I only have one now (one on the way) and a custom on the way. I really like the stag models and the prices are great for what one gets!
 
I'd like to find a list of 2006 stuff that I might add to my son's collection (if I can find any of them). I am also considering joining the BCCI just so I can keep on top of these.
 
Offhand, I can't think of any knives like the one you describe.....but those special limited runs are getting pretty popular, so it could be just about anything.
 
After some searching, it looked most like a Vanguard. If anyone has info on the 2006 models I would be very interested in that. Also, does anyone know of ANY Vanguard model with nickel hilt and butt cap and no animal etching? Thanks!
