I am trying to get an idea of the age/any information /model number of this Gerber knife that I found in a box of gun parts quite a while back
* length opened is 6", blade length is 2 1/2" , handle and bolsters are of the same material (yellow-ivory colored material)
* marked Gerber on one side, and Portland, OR. 97223 USA on the opposite side.
have not been able to find this particular knife on websites etc.

thanks for any info

If you open it and turn it over so that you are looking at the edge, can you see any dots or numbers on the inside of the back spring?

Gerber made knives in Portland during the late '70's, early '80s....

Looking at the inside of the back spring but I am not seeing any dots or numbers

thank you for responding

Whoops! I see you already have that info.

Well, I was leading up to that.

Gerber used to make their knives in the States, and they were considered good quality knives, on par with anything in your username.

When Gerber moved production out of the states, quality suffered, and so did their reputation.

Early Gerbers are hard to find, but I don't know how collectible they are, and as a registered user, I can't talk about it!
