Hello everyone, I'm new here and would like some of your thoughts on sturdy folding or small and stout fix blade with a pocket sheath... would love a small fix blade and i'm looking...

Looking at using it as a EDC on all kinds of things but want it to catch the eye and stand out.... in a pocket carry... price around 100.00

Ag Russell has a few different designs that might fit what you're looking for (Bird and trout, or Deer Hunter) as does Buck (Smigen).

I like the RAT-3 in size but the carry options are very limited, EDC is a must...

Don't know much about that one but it looks like something you would just be able to drop into your pocket with a kydex sheath, unless you wanted something that clips to your pocket.

Don't have an RC-3, but I do have a Jk Hiker that has the same blade length and over all length. It is not what I would call a "pocket" fixed blade.

If you find your choices limited in production blades, check out our Makers forum here. Several members make pocket-able fixed blades at your price range.

I have several pocket sized fixed blades,my personal favorite is this one...it is my EDC.

It has a 3" scale to tip blade, 6 1/2" OAL. Made by JK Handmade knives, forum member Stomper.

For size comparison This is a shot with my Hiker(a RC-3 size knife).

Still big enough to handle any job, yet small enough to fit in the front pocket of a pair of jeans. And still be able to sit down.:)

The Spartan Blades Enyo is one of my favorites. The S30-V blade and the well designed kydex sheath that affords both neck knife and inside the waist band carry are hard to beat. They are not cheap but are well worth the price. Mike and Curtis are former Green Beret's that know what works

OMG, I also can't believe it took 12 posts till somebody recommends the best EDC fixed blade money can buy,

IZULA X2

Would you mind backing up that statement?

Perhaps comparisons with other similar sized fixed blades that you own,or have first hand experiance with.

I am interested to learn why the Izula is the "best EDC fixed blade money can buy". You see I own,or have owned, several pocket fixed blades but not an Izula....and am curious as to just what it can do that others can't?

So, why is it the best?

Pretty bold statement for a $55 knife without scales... ;)

It is a nice knife , but your opinion might be a bit biased , it is one of the best sub $100 fixed blade offerings though and a worthy option for the OP to consider ( as well as others from the same company ).

Mhm....
I really meant that for a sub $50 dollar knife, its freaking amazing.
I've taken mine to the bush and used it wherever I thought I'm facing a task too tough for a folder.
By the way, I love bold statements. Helps to deliver the message with some feelings (kinda, since the only reason I give the Izula so much credit is because I recently found that it is way better than I though)
Not only have I had an Izula for a while, but I have several of them. The thing is, I used a BK-11 for the most part. And though it's a good knife as well, The Izula seems simply better.

Another thing you've got to consider, is the fact that I HATE wrapped handles, or skeletonized ones. I always put my own custom handle on my neck knives.

So yeah, some of you can try and take a crack at my nut$, but I stand behind my statement. And those who don't see the beyond the exaggeration, don't bother bashing, coz I really don't care.

I'm comparing the Izula to a BK-11, Spyderco Street Beat (which is way more expensive), ZT dagger (it's a dagger, I know) and a Swick. For the money, Izula owns. And I am a huge Spyderco fan.

Ohh, forgot to mention, I'd take a small fixed blade anytime over a folder. Though I always try to carry a large folder on me also.

Informative post, wasn't trying to bust your privates. Though your first post with such a over-reaching statement tripped my B.S detector..

The BK-11 works well, but like you I am not a fan of scaleless knives. I prefer my custom pocket fixed blades. (custom doesn't always mean big $$$$$)

After I abused it a little I passed it on to my son, he likes his "new" BK-11

Rat Cutlery will be selling micarta scales for the Izula after the SHOT show in January (I think it's January).

Head over to the Rat subforum and see the kind of abuse Izulas can take. For $50 bucks it's a steal. Can't beat the warranty either.
