This weekend I made a great find at a garage sale.
A lady sold me as she described it" an old pocket knife hubby got as a gift during the deprssion from some rich folks he worked for."
She also said it was just not practical so he put it back in case and left it in the drawer.
For a buck I got fruit knife in original leather case.It has a mother of pearl handle and the blades are sterling silver.
The handle comes apart and gives seperate Knife and fork.(something her hubby did not know).
Thje writeing on the Blade is"J Deaks&SONS SHEFFIELD"
when taken apart the patern #s are on the fork 15420.
On the knife 20230.
If anyone has any information on this or one like it please contact me.
Thank you

The correct writeing on the Balde is "J DEAK some sort of symbol N & SONS anyone know anything about Jdeak n % Sons?

Herd4Ever, Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings lists a
J. Deakin & Sons Sheffield, C. 1865-1953, at Monmouth Lane, Geil Street, Sheffield, England. You might find out more by posting on the Levine forum.
John.
