I picked this one up recently and am looking for some information about it. It has an olive green FRN handle with integral pocket clip, no steel type listed - just "SYDERCO" and "SEKI-JAPAN" - and what looks like a light stamp or engraving of "HOFFRITZ," the importer, I'm guessing. Part of a special run a long time ago? I used to have an Endura from, I'm guessing, about the same time period, but that isn't really helpful with this one. The very tip looks to be missing. I would appreciate any information you can share with me on this knife. Thanks!

Hoffritz is or was a distributer for several makes of knives, Victorinox among them. The steel on your knife is most likely Gingami-1, AKA Gin-1 or G-2. Lack of a steel stamp puts it fairly early in the production life of the first generation Delica, but the clip looks a bit wider than the first run, so it is probably at least the second mold (I believe Sal said the mold was changed four times before they gave up on the molded clip). The very tip of the blade is indeed chipped off, maybe a millimeter missing. All in all, a nice bit of Spyderco history.

On spyderwiki the only green 1st gen delicas listed are a c11pgr and c11sgr. Both in gin-1 steel and yours would be the sgr, 's' meaning serrated edge and 'p' meaning plain edge.
