We bought a tomahawk (tradeaxe) from a reputable Indian artifact dealer. While we're sure the handle has been replaced, there is a sticker on it that reads: "Trade Axe (Tomahawk)1700's. Makers mark both sides. Chequagua Falls, Seneca Lake, NY". Along the rim it says "H. Jacoby Collection." On one side of the blade, there are two square with "IV" stamps in it. On the other side is a triangular shield with a "S" in it. Can anyone give me any information on this tomahawk?

Dusty One--didn't see the makers mark we have but a huge thanks anyway! I have another question. When I did a Google search for information, there are quite a few tomahawk websites that had been taken off because of inappropriate material. I'm being curious here--any ideas why?
