As some of you know I'm fairly new to knifecollecting (It started in 2003 when my brother in law gave me a book on knives) although I've been collecting for the greater part of my life (watches and fountain pens). To get myself acquinted with the knifeworld one of the things I did was that I bought a lot of books, including Knives: Points of Interest I-V. I did this because I truly believe that when you want to know the future of something you have to know its past and where it came from.
One of the makers that fascinates me is Hugh Bartrug. The pics I've seen of his work are of knives I truly love (look at his work in K:PoI #4 and I need to say no more). In the past months I've tried to gather more information about him and his work but I'm not very lucky so far.

Can someone point me in the direction of some more information, like a major collector of his work, books and such. I've got his address from Knives 2006 but I don't know if that is accurate and to be honest I don't want to bother him with my questions because I don't know his current situation.

Marcel, One good place to view alot of Hugh Bartrugs work is in the "Knives Points of Interest" series of books by Jim Weyer. Hugh's work is really amazing. I'm lucky enough to have a few knives by him, but the knives in the Weyer's books are spectacular. Jim Treacy
