Going through dresser drawers looking for a gun barrel I put in "a safe place" and found this Case knife that belonged to my father-in-law. I'm 81, so I figure this Case is old. Is there any way to find out when it was made? It is 3 bladed. The major blade has 6332 on one side and CaseXX with USA beneath it on the other. Just curious about its history. I went to Case Forum and tried to sign up but was asked about a number which I couldn't give because I had no idea what number it wanted. So, here I am looking for that information. Thanks for allowing me to do so.

Welcome. If you Google "Case knives tang stamps" you will find links to pages that show how the tang stamp on your knife can tell you when it was made.

The Case site used to have a "Case College" that had the stamps, I believe....that "case College" doesn't seem to be there any more. o_O

That was a big help. The knife was made between 1965 to 1969. That's about right. My wife and I married in 1960. Pops didn't want to give his 10 child away in marriage, but he finally changed his mind. We've celebrated 58 years.

I probably don't have the kind of membership needed to post pictures of the knife. Sorry.

I have reached that age where I put things in a "safe place" where I will be capable, without much effort, to locate and retrieve. That was my goal. I have been very successful in reaching that age, I'm 81 trucking toward 82. I have been tremendously successful in find a "safe place" to store things. What I am a failure in, is finding where that safe place is once I've stored something there and wish to put my hands on it "without much effort." I had a western style revolver in .22 LR and 2 replacement cylinders for the extra long .22 cartridge. I traded the pistol, but for the past 8 months, I've just about rebuilt our house looking for those two cylinders. I finally resigned myself to surrendering the thought of ever finding them in hope of accidentally locating them when I'm looking for something else. So far, I'm batting zero! My 52 year old son gave me a small gadget called "Nut" to use if I happen to leave my iPhone in that particular place one day. Kids! They have no understanding of the age that's coming!
