ITO is the material used to tie handles on Japanese style swords and knives. I found that in a pinch wide shoelaces can be made to work. I've searched some sites for webbing, but I'm looking for a relatively stiff flat cloth material about 3/8" wide for use in knife handles. Has anyone run into something that is low cost and may work in this application?
Steve Corkum does a good job of these. Here is a shot of the handles CRKT uses on his stuff.
