Any one have pics comparing how thick the various scales for the izula are? Looking for more than the naked grip, but still want to keep it trim.

Interested in tkc scales, factory micarta, and factory g10s.

Thanks.

Comparing the torx screw uses to mount the various scales indicates it the same torx screw used on most, with the exception of going custom. From this, the inference is that the width of most of these scales would also be the same at what, roughly 19mm per scale, for a combined 40mm (1.56") including the blades width of roughly 2mm.

Most customs too, methinks:

factory micarta, G10, and a shoe-lace wrap:
I didn't bother with precise measurements but you can see that the G10 tapers from ~1/4" at the pommel to 1/8" at the guard, is also rounded/contoured, whereas the basic micarta slabs are a flat ~3/16" with rounded edges. A cord wrap is as thick or thin as desired (depending on cord and wrap-style). Among myself, wife, and kids of various ages under 10, the G10 is most comfortable for actual use (fills hand better) with the cord a close 2nd-place (covers the entire handle, can be more discreet than thick scales, depending on cord-choice), while none of us like the basic slabs that are just kinda there. YMMV
