Hey all,

I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a good school or instructor up here in Rain Land.

I have researched it a bit and find only sparse commercial schools so was hoping to find a club or an instructor who is willing to accept a new pupil. Or, if one of the local schools could be recommended, I'd appreciate it.

TIA

Will

I posted a similar question about FMA in the Tacoma/Kent area about 2 weeks ago. Even though most of the replys were for Tacoma, WA there were a few with schools & instructors in the Bellevue & Seattle area.

There is a Poekoelan Tjimindie Tulen school. It's called Fifth River Poekoelan. I stufy here in the New York City Branch called One With Heart. It's a silat style from Indonesia. A blend of Poekoelan and Chuan Fa. Also some other things thrown in. A great style both for fighting and for forms I think. Some truty interesting things to be learned. But I'll leave that opinion up to you. If you want more info about the system email me.

If you're up for a commute, I'd contact Kelly Worden. He doesn't have a school per se anymore (as far as I know), but he does do private lessons. And he's regarded as the best in the region. Besides that, he's a good guy and his teaching methods are geared towards letting you learn at your own pace and according to your body type. Anyway, you should be able to find his number, or look in an old Pierce County phone book under "Natural Spirite." Hope that helps.
