Hello all
I recently discovered the Spyderco Lum tanto and Benchmade 760 models and I am really, really digging the shape and design. The thing is, I don't want to pay as much as they are, but I love the designs of those two without the price tag.
Reccomendations?

These 2 Tanto blade model's you've referenced Mr. G, are thee exact same two that converted me over & made me a big fan of the Tanto design quite some time ago.:thumbsup:

I have a BM 760 that I edc for about a year- loved carrying that knife.

Here's a short but rather interesting archived thread, in reference to Bob Lum's Tanto design.

FYI update- There's a Spyderco Lum for sale on another forum.

Me too. I gave my Benchmade 760 prototype to a friend 4 years ago and have been looking for a replacement ever since. They are very hard to find. I think the Emerson Roadhouse is the best looking Tanto aside from the ones you’ve mentioned, but it doesn’t have the complex grind of the Spyderco.

For me the one that comes close is Benchmade 910, a little shorter blade and not reinforced tip but tango shape. Carried mine until serrations worn to nubs, but a great blade for just about everything. Emerson 15 is another close one in my book.
