Well I have decided to start carrying a pocket EDC organizer instead of clipping everything to my pockets and now I have room for a multi-tool to go along with my pen and flashlight. I don’t want a full size tool, too heavy and too big, so maybe midsize or smaller. (Sorry I don’t know much about sizing or names etc). The EDC organizer is 3” tall in the open area I’m putting the tool so something near that size would be good. Also, I know I want pliers and not scissors as the main tool, as I find pliers useful more then scissors. Price wise I’m not sure so I’ll say under $100.

So, how about some recommendations.

Thanks

3" tall is going to rule out at lot of options. The first thing that comes to mind is a Leatherman squirt, although there are also Victorinox models with pliers that you may like. Check the SAK wiki for models with pliers

It can be taller then 3”, I was just saying the organizer is 3” deep. If the tool was 4” tall it would just stick out the top 1” which isn’t an issue. If it was under 3, I’d tie a lanyard to it to yank it out. Sorry for the confusion

I suggest take a look at the Victorinox Deluxe Tinker, an older DC-ed Mechanic, or others on Sakwiki. Sakwiki is easy to use; you can search by tools, size and other variables.

If you go to the Victorinox.com website, you can select *medium* or *large* knives and then pick out the tools you want on the left. Under medium size knives, you have 16 models with pliers, and under large you have 4 models. As R Rich S mentioned, the Deluxe Tinker is the cheapest of the bunch that has pliers.

Is your organizer one big pocket or is there dividers in it? Let's say the length of the pocket is 3", what is the height and width?

If pliers are important, I might swap out the SAK for a mini Leatherman type multi-tool if you can find one that fits your organizer.

FYI, SOG makes the PowerPint MT. I'm not a big fan of SOG but their MTs seem to have a better rep than their folders. YMMV.

Thx for the reply. I’m going to do that. I did order 2 this morning to check out, a Style PS and a Rev. I plan on getting a few more, just to have and see which I like. I can always sell the others if I want to. Like to try a variety of models and brands also

Well got 2 so far. Bought a Style for keychain and a REV to carry. Now gotta get one for my gals EDC bag that goes in her new car
